New Downed Fire Fighter Confined Space Carry training program
The Firefighters Support Foundation’s (FSF) newest training program is now available. The Downed Fire Fighter Confined Space Carry program demonstrates a highly efficient method of getting a downed fire fighter quickly and safely out of a confined space, including many types of confined spaces.
This is a carry developed by the PPES Guardian Training Specialists. This carry allows two rescue firefighters to remove a downed firefighter through debris, upstairs, and how to maneuver around corners, all the while keeping the rescuers and downed firefighters below the thermal layer in an IDLH atmosphere with relative ease. The Guardian Specialists explain the benefits of this carry compared to other types of carries. They demonstrate why this carry is superior to other carries and then demonstrate it. They show how to perform the carry outside of the Guardian simulator, step by step, and then demonstrate it inside the simulator using the obstacles the Guardian Safety and Survival Simulator® has to offer.
The short video program uses the ultra-realistic Guardian Safety and Survival Training Simulator®. The presenter is Michael Wood, an Acting Lieutenant on one of the busiest companies in one of the nation’s busiest departments.
The program is free to all members of public safety and emergency management agencies.
